AwesomeCast 101: Your Face is Glitchy

We have a Carman! John Carman joins us for this week’s episode as we talk this week’s things geek. We start off the show with a story about a man, a man who installed mini magnets into his wrist, mini magnets that will hold his iPod Nano! As if that story isn’t awesome enough, we follow it up with another man’s quest to make the voyage to the stars in the Starship Enterprise a reality! Yes, you read that right. There is a man who has designs to build the Starship Enterprise! As if the Enterprise isn’t enough to get your geek on, we also discuss the potential New Mexico ghost town, aptly labeled an “unspoken playground for the scientists.” And those are the stories from the first half of the show! We also touch upon some Assassin’s Creed III, Comcast Xfinity net neutrality issues, Xbox as the most popular video player in the U.S., Flipboard coming to the Android market, the new Google + app, and the status of the much hyped Google Glass project! So check it out. And, if you like it, join us live Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. EST.

AwesomeCast 96: Tin Hats for the Common Man

RobChachi, and Sorg are back again for this week’s episode. We even get a sneak peek at Rob’s work facilities, as he’s live from the undisclosed location of awesome! Prior to today, Instagram has been populated by IOS users – but today, the Android market is taking over. And, it’s driving Rob nuts! We find out that Sorg is picky about who he follows on Twitter. With the recent news about Ashton Kutcher being picked to portray Steve Jobs, we of course have to make a mention of it. Foursquare revokes location API for an app that searches for girls in the vicinity. Flooding in Taiwan and the earthquake in Japan have apparently caused prices of hard drives to sky rocket, making Sorg angry. Used technology, including phones and game consoles with hard drives, can be “hacked” for personal information. Terror cells are using XBox for its private party services. More great content creators coming to YouTube (and this makes Sorg unrealistically excited). Mr. Handyman (Rob) also points out the Craftsman online videos and resources that are available. So check it out. And, if you like it, join us live Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. EST.

AwesomeCast 95: Turkey Baconopedia

It’s Ladies’ Night on AwesomeCast!  RobChachi, and Sorg are joined by Chris Unger, Jen Houtz, and Missy Sorg for this week’s episode.  We start off the show with a brief discussion about the lack of ladies in tech.  In our search for current lady tech stories, we stumble upon a notable article from a year ago touching upon women in tech.  From there we move to the XBox Live update which opens TV content like HBO to the XBox community, and Comcast’s streaming XBox video without counting against the data cap.  With the draw of Draw Something, we can’t go without mentioning the Zynga scoop up of OMGPOP.  From a revived discussion of the do not track initiative push, to a Facebook suicide, to employers requiring employees to turn over their FB login information, we turn the discussion back to Facebook and its ever present status in the changing face of social media protocol. So check it out.  And, if you like it, join us live Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. EST.

AwesomeCast 94: Taking Plurk Back

Rob is in the hizzouse!  After a hiatus filled with all sorts of tech, Rob joins Sorg and Chachi for this week’s episode.  Our guest for tonight is John Chichilla.  We start off the show with traveler tales from Rob as he recaps his visit to SXSW where he did some exhibit work for Pepsico!  Chachi gets a little jealous and recaps his own tech travels for work this week too.  Chilla shows off his new toy – an iPad 3.  How many hot spots are too many hot spots?  We have some speculations this week.  Because we all use our tech so much, the FAA is rethinking its policy on device usage in flight – especially when the pilot’s flight plan is on his iPad.  And, we circle back around to Windows 8 for a brief moment before delving into the joys IT professionals have with the overwhelming availability of so many technological options from computers to phones to tablets in today’s workplace.  We wrap the show with Chachi’s vow to bring back Plurk!  So check it out.  And, if you like it, join us live Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. EST.
