Game 45: Battle Zone

Battle Zone
1980
Atari

The only thing making this game old, is when it was released. End of story.

This game once again broke boundries in the gaming industry. Clean cut 3d arena, not to mention unbroken lines of vector graphics.

So realistic at the time and believeable 3d arena had people making up stories as to what they accomplished inside the game. Reports of people driving to and inside of the volcano(not possible fyi).

You drove around and shoot and avoided being shot by a wide variety of weapons. ranging from tanks, guilded missles and space ships. So popular that the developer was highered by the government to create a version with better physics to be used to train military personnal.

Chachi Says: sometimes a game is truly ageless. like this one the only thing that makes it old is the date in which it was released. I to this day pick up this game and im able to spend a decent time playing.

I loved this game when I was a kid, and I was stunned when I got to use the simulation as a tanker in the Army. One of my favorites ever.
