*ding ding ding* The Challenger in the black tank top with green trunks, 17 years old, 4 ft 8 in, 107 lb (or 5 ft 7 in, 107 lb in the Wii version) hailing from The Bronx, New York…… lllllllliiiiittttttttttttllllle mac!
With the help of your training doc you climb the ranks of the wvba on your way to becoming the world heavy weight champion and earn your shot to fight Mike Tyson!!!!… or Mr. Dream depending on which version of the game you were lucky enough to buy. The reason for this switch is the deal with tyson had run out so rather than pay him more money they just made a version without him.
Anyway, you climb through the ranks fight guys that are waaaaaaay bigger than you and really the only one not bigger than you is mario. which makes you a dwarf and him a little person. I guess. what im really trying to say is get a step ladder because thats the only way you stand a chance!
This arcade to nintendo port had its challenges. Nintendo was unable to do a straight port because the arcade machine was more powerful than the nintendo. and so they had to reduce the graphics and change from the wireframe full sized challenger who did not have a name.( yet another change.)
So they shrunk him, lowered the graphics and gave him a name.Lets not forget the list of awesome bad guys Soda Popinski(the drunk Russian) the perpetual loser in Glass Joe. and everyone’s favorite the unmovable force from Hippo Island….. King Hippo!
This game continues to make its way from console to console and entertain kids of all ages.
