Super Mario Brothers: The Lost Levels.
1986
Nintendo
So Depending on what country you are in, decides when this game was released for you.
Japan? Well then the game is called Super Mario Brothers 2. It was released in 1986 and its the much harder sequel to Super Maric Brothers. if you are in America you didnt see a version of this game until 1993, unless you import games from japan all the time. However the real game was not released in america until 2007. There was just a remake.
Instead of Lost Levels, Europe and America got a different game all together which in japan was released as Super Mario Brothers USA.
The game itself has its differences and similarities. The story, exactly the same. The characters look the same but act different. Mario remains the same, Luigi jumps higher and further however is less agile so chances are he’s gonna slide off that small platform you are trying to reach.
The game has no two player mode, you get the choice to play as mario or luigi. Thats it. 8 main levels await you again. Make it through without warping and you get a ninth bonus level. Beat the game 8 times and you get another bonus 4 worlds. Warp if you must but be careful because you may end up going back to a previous level. Also if you go for a swim be sure to look out for all the land creatures and vice versa.
And as if that was not enough, make sure you pay attention to the color of mushroom that comes out of that box you just hit. Eat a purple one and you may just die. The Poison mushroom made it’s debut in this game and will treat you the same as being hit by an enemy. And lets not forget the windstorms that will knock you off the platforms on some levels as well.
Chachi Says: those Japanese are hardcore when it comes to video games. Hmm, i wonder if they have Dojos with wise old masters to teach you all the secrets at the top of high mountains….. where did i put google….. Hi, southwest 1 ticket to japan please. Honestly this game is rough at times. I dont agree with them not releasing it and giving the usa market tomorrows game on the list but its too late for that.
