oh right, Todays game is Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s island….. So really i wasnt that far off.
This particular game is actually a prequel of sorts, It starts with two baby’s being delivered by storks. Mario and Luigi. However, Magikoopa Kamek disrupts this and tries to steal the children. He gets Luigi and the stork but mario falls…… Oh noooo! Dont worry, he lands on a green yoshi. Yoshi and his multi colored friends decide then that it is for the best that they travel through the 6 areas and save the other baby.
Like other mario games, there are power ups that can be used. not many but there are some. The starman in this game has no effect on yoshi, instead it turns mario into a super baby who can run up walls and drags yoshi around in an egg behind him. As far as Yoshi power ups he every so often can turn into a vehicle that allows him to to complete a certain section. Helicopter, mole car and just plain car.
One difference in this game other than the look is that this is the first mario game that requires you to complete all 48 levels. Thats right you shortcut takers. No warp zones for you.
Chachi Says: While the game is fun, there is a high annoyance level when mario starts crying. Its not a bad game, but will be played sparingly.
