Game 61: Super Punchout!!

Super Punchout!!
Nintendo
1998

In this corner, no longer 3 foot nothing, Liitttttttttttllllle MAC!

No Seriously, I can possibly be the only one that realized that Mac had one hell of a growth spurt, experimental surgery or was hitting the roids…. I want him drug tested, kid is juicing……

No seriously, This an updated version of the Arcade/nes version of the game. They had enough graphics to go back and do it the way they had done it in the original version. Made Mac see thru so that the player is able to see what is going on without costing them any graphics.

Things that changed….

Well most of the opponents have changed, there are some of the original ones here, madder and ready to rumble. Bald Bull and Super Macho man are back as they were before. others have been changed a bit mainly in name such as Piston Hurricane aka Piston Honda.

Game play has Changed as well. You play 1 round, 3 mins. Knock out, or TKO your opponent or thats it. Unlike the original where if you had enough points at the end of the match you could win by decision, this game doesnt have that. Go big or go home. Another thing that has changed is the “star punch”. They did away with that as well. Instead you recieved a power bar, fill the bar and keep it filled by not getting hit and landing punches on the challenger and your punch strength is increased. Pound away.

Chachi Says: as far as updating a game for the new generation of consoles goes, this game hit it spot on. They made the nessecery changes and were able to do what they wanted with it. But dont go in thinking this game is a push over. You are sadly mistaken.
